Glasgow 2019 Head to Head: Battle of the Vikings

Day 6 and the finale of our countdown of the multieventers competing in the heptathlon in Glasgow: The Battle of the Vikings.
Martin Roe
This will be the first European Indoor Championships for Norway’s Martin Roe, and his performance during 2018, particularly his win at the Multistars in Florence in April, ensured that he qualified automatically for Glasgow. Just over a week ahead of the championships, Martin set an outright personal best of 4.90 in the pole vault, edging closer and closer to the 5m mark. Forget the Ingebrigtsens - Martin is the multievent star of the powerful Norwegian team in Glasgow.

Fredrik Samuelsson
Fredrik has already scored over 6000 points this season to qualify for Glasgow, but he has been clear that there is much more still to come in some of his individual disciplines, that should take him beyond that season’s and personal best of 6018. Fredrik’s famous Swedish fan club supported him to a fifth place finish in Belgrade in 2017 - where he scored 6015 - and will no doubt be rocking the Emirates Arena on Saturday morning.
